Panagia Faneromeni is in the western side of Xylokastro, in the refugee settlement of the area, and it was built in the shape of a Basilica. The ascetic priest Nikonas devoted his life in the building of the temple. The exact shape of the Early Christian churches was found in an old book of Anastasios Orlandos, in which there was also marbles and sculptures of the first churches.
