Apostolos Pavlos Church was built in 1932-1934 by the Architect Nikos Kotseronis.
The whole idea of the temple’s design came from the temple of Hagia Sophia in Instabul. It is considered to be one of the greatest designs of modern church architecture in Greece and in Balcan and it takes over a whole city block.
On the southwestern side of the church there is delicate cenotaph, designed by the same architect, dedicated to those, who were killed at war.
